Prove your trustworthiness-
- Use testimonials to prove to potential subscribers you are already trusted and offer valuable information to current subscribers.
- Advertise your popularity. If your blog, newsletter or tweets get a lot of comments, make sure you display those numbers prominently. People like to know that they are becoming a part of something bigger.
- Use exclusivity. Subscribers love knowing that signing up for your email list means becoming part of an exclusive community, it makes them feel special and important.
- Encourage readers to sign up for your companies other social media tools like Facebook, Twitter, Blogs. Let them know what they'll get by doing this (exclusive sales, upcoming events, first to know news...).
- Make sure they know all emails will be in line with what was originally promised
- Ensure readers that email addresses will not be sold to email lists and that all emails will comply with the most recent CAN-SPAM laws
- Proactively let readers know or choose how many times a week they should expect emails from you
- A direct call to action always sounds better then using a soft unconvincing one. Politely persuade readers what to do, "Enter your email today and get started, download your free ebook now, sign up now and receive exclusive offers."
